Self Love Practices

In a world driven by doing, we can all use a daily reminder to show ourselves Love. After all, if I'm not showing myself love, am I really loving others as best I can?

My daily goal is be a better person than I was yesterday. Better lover to my partner, better massage therapist, better friend, better daughter, better sister, better for the earth, better for myself. Note the BE at the beginning of the word better not by doing but by being. The self care options listed below are some of my favorites.

Self Love Practices:
Walk in the park (barefoot)
Go for a hike
Find a waterfall or stream to sit beside
Make a list of negative things to let go of, tear it up and put it in the river and watch the negativity float away, or take a lighter and burn the paper watching as it turns into ash, then nothingness
Journal, start by listing the days happenings and move on to your feeling
Go outside in your bare feet and take 3 slow deep belly breathes in and out
Create a stretching or yoga routine that you enjoy
Drink ½ your body weight in ounces of water (add lemon)
Sip some tea or 2Tlb apple cider vinegar and 1tsp of honey in a cup of hot water
Take a bath, maybe sip wine, tea, or hot cocoa or use it as meditation time (2 for 1 deal)
Meditate 5-15min (Insight Timer)
Connect to your heart by sitting in silence and allowing unattended feelings to rise up, sit with the feeling allowing space for it to process out without judgement
Sit still for 3minutes. focusing on your heart observing what images surface and journal them or sketch the image (if you enjoy sketching)
